CCDCC March 12 Meeting
Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch
(EPFW) director, Addie Jacobsen, and Ron Schaner, Volunteer Coordinator,
will be guest speakers at the next meeting of the CCDCC on March 12,
6:30 pm, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.
EPFW organized to oppose Sierra Pacific
Industries (SPI) forest harvest practice of clear-cutting. EPFW sponsors
community events and is the fiscal sponsor of
Community Action
Plan (CAP).
EPFW
also works to change
California's timber harvest practices to bring them in line with the
latest advances is science, economics, and land use planning approaches.

Wang, 2nd vice chair of the California Democratic Party and candidate
for female vice-chair.

productive and enjoyable convention for the approximately 3,500
delegates, guests and press in attendance. If you have any

Come March in
the Murphys Irish Day Parade
Saturday, March 21

(Murphys Irish Day Parade - 2008)
Over the last few
years, the number of Democrats marching in the Irish
Day parade has increased. Let's make this
year the
largest number yet!
Come enjoy the day-long family celebration of
historic Murphys and its Irish heritage. Besides the
parade, here are other activities happening that
day:
8:00
to 11:00 a.m. - Pancake Breakfast,
Congregational Church.
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Festivities will include live entertainment, arts
and craft vendors, pony rides, and a wide variety of
foods and beverages, and a raffle with a trip to
Ireland as grand prize.
11:00 a.m. - A
parade featuring bagpipes, bands, marching groups,
animals, classic cars and a ten-foot-tall Scotsman
will make its way down Main Street.

Irish Days is
presented each year by the Murphys Business
Association. There is no admission charge. Call

Helping Others in
the Community
Farm
to Families
UC Cooperative Extension and the
Human Resource Council are working together to make sure that no family
in Calaveras County goes without fresh vegetables and fruit.
They are looking for people who can help
grow extra vegetables and fruit at their gardens or farms AND people who
can help in their neighborhoods by donating labor, materials or time.
If you are interested in this project

Donations to the
HRC Food Bank
The members of the West Club have
committed to collecting donations for the Human Resource
Council (HRC)
Food Bank at each of their meetings and events. HRC is a private,
non-profit human service agency serving California's central Sierra
Foothill communities since 1981. With passion and dedication HRC serves
families, children and individuals by providing exceptional
community-based programs and education. To learn more about HRC,

Save Our Senior Center Benefit Dinner

The Calaveras Senior Center offers
a place for local residents to meet for a good meal, chat, play cards,
and make use of the many services available. The Senior Center
gets no money from the County and relies on donations, fundraisers, and
charging low fees to cover the costs for operations.

intense training that consists of a variety of political workshops
intended for club and party leaders and activists who want to
